History
Secrecy is the success of any thieves' guild, and the Broken Feathers are amongst the most elusive. It is a powerful guild with its headquarters believed to be an invisible ship that is always in motion. Our sources believe Jerry the gnome founded the Broken Feathers around the 1950s. What caused him to create a thieves' guild is unknown. It started as an under-the-table illicit substances or services, but never offered assassinations, only capture. Members we have captured describe a strict code and seem more like businessmen than assassins; they've revealed little of the day-to-day operations.
What we do know is that agents of the guild value loyalty, wealth, and power through commerce. Each agent has respect for one another and would rather die than tell. Many members get birds, sky, clouds, or flying-related tattoos, with none having a clear distinction.
Rumors of rivalry between the Guarded Web and Broken Feathers began around the late 2010s. A feud was sparked over money, and the transportation of substances was halted. Tensions got high, and it boiled over into an underground guild war that ended with a truce. Guard Web members are not to interfere with Broken Feather agents and vice versa.
Activities
Those who desire their services can find business in protection rackets, money lenders, illegal drugs, and enforcers. Politicans and government services often have been accused of hiring the guild's spies to obtain knowledge, or plant evidence. Notoriously, the music industry is accused of hiring their services as bodyguards for their biggest artists.
The Pit
Many wrestlers, boxers, and martial artists have success in corporations such as MMA or MSA; we have found 23% have come from an arena known as The Pit. An underground arena where the floor is made of a transparent alloy, allowing you to see the bottom. Few have described being above the ocean, frozen wastelands, barren deserts, topics, and more. If both combatants agree, fights to the death can end through murder or being dropped to whatever is below. Investigators have attempted to find the arena but have had zero luck. Those who attempt to provide information to the law get teleported somewhere and are unable to be counterspelled. They are soon after undetectable, believed to be killed.
